The Assignment
I was commissioned by The CEO Magazine to photograph Danny Wong, CEO of E Mobility Solutions, for his feature.
I have worked with The CEO Magazine for many years. During this time, I have photographed CEOs, senior executives and business leaders for editorial features.
For this assignment, the objective was to create more than a conventional corporate headshot. The images needed to present Danny as a confident business leader. At the same time, they needed to reflect the environment, technology and story behind E Mobility Solutions.
The Approach
For executive editorial photography, the strongest images often go beyond simply showing what a CEO looks like.
They should communicate presence, personality and context. In other words, the images should show the person behind the title and the business behind the person.
For Danny’s feature, I created a combination of:
- Executive portraits — polished, confident images suitable for a CEO profile
- Environmental portraits — placing Danny within an environment that reflects his role and personality
- Business storytelling — photographs connecting Danny with the company’s electric mobility technology and products
Together, these images gave the editorial team a range of photographs. As a result, the photography could support a broader visual story.
The Photography
The shoot was designed to give the feature a visual progression — from the leader, to his environment, to the business he leads.
Formal executive portraits were combined with more contextual photographs. These images connected Danny with E Mobility Solutions and its electric three-wheeler technology.
Rather than relying on a single headshot, the photography helps tell a more complete story about the person, the business and the leadership behind it.
The Result
The photographs were published as part of Danny Wong’s feature in The CEO Magazine.
They accompany the editorial story about his leadership, E Mobility Solutions and the company’s work in electric mobility. In addition, the images provide the publication with a varied selection of photography for the feature.
